The First 3 Accounts Every Latino Family Should Open

Building wealth is not about a hot stock. It starts with three boring accounts done right.
Before chasing returns, set the foundation. These three accounts do the heavy lifting.
1. A high-yield savings account (the emergency fund)
Three to six months of expenses in an account that actually pays interest. This is what keeps one bad month from becoming debt.
2. A retirement account (401(k) or IRA)
If your employer matches your 401(k), that is free money — contribute at least enough to get the full match. No match? Open a Roth IRA.
3. A custodial or 529 account for the kids
Start early. Even small monthly contributions compound into a real head start for the next generation.
Generational wealth is built one boring account at a time.
Primero la base, luego las inversiones. La constancia gana.
